Responsibilities:
As Chief Financial Officer (CFO) you play an active role in the financial/strategic planning of the company, including fund raising and M&A activities, you are a strong business partner for the CEO and member of Management Team. With your international team your are operationally responsible for all the financial and control related issues and processes.
The CFO responsibilities include:
- Setting up and managing the financial planning process, determining the financial needs, cash management and monitoring adverse effect of exchange rates;
- Setting up and implementing the Business Control System;
- Ensuring that the financial reporting and planning for the business is reliable, timely and effective while also taking proper consideration of short to medium term risk and business needs;
- Initiating and preparing the (yearly) budgets and (quarterly) forecasts;
- Preparing the monthly and annual (internal and external) financial reports and analysis;
- Completing all financial activities on time and processing all financial information of the company;
- Judging commercial initiatives and decisions on their financial impact;
- Supervising the profitability and advising on the pricing of our products and services;
- Advising on strategic decisions and business planning;
- The necessary accounting controls with regard to the financial data in the Business Control and Financial systems;
- Managing and stimulating the F&A team, which consists of 3 members located in the Netherlands, UK and USA;
- Managing contacts with the bank, tax collectors office, salary administration, subsidy agencies and external accountants;
- Preparing and executing tax declarations like V.A.T., Corporate Income Tax, import duties;

Your Profile:
Education/Experience:
- Accounting/Finance degree on academic level
- Several years of experience as a BU controller / CFO in Small/Medium Businesses (with end responsibility for Finance & Control)
- Experience in a start-up venture
- Experienced in an international environment
- Outstanding technical accounting and finance skills - solid knowledge of Dutch accounting regulations, experience with US -GAAP and IFRS is preferred
- Excellent advisory skills and ability to translate figures into understandable and pragmatic business advice
- Fluent in English & Dutch (verbal as well as in writing)
- Knowledge of financial software like Exact is an advantage
